화성시, 119안전센터 확대 개편 건의

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=화성 이현준기자] 화성시는 소방력 확충을 26일 경기도에 건의했다.

화성시는 서울특별시의 1.4배에 이르는 광활한 면적(844㎢)을 가지고 있고 각종 개발사업에 따른 지속적인 인구유입과 기업유치로 인해 소방수요가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다.

그러나 화성시 소방공무원의 1인당 담당 주민수 및 담당 관할면적은 1,799명과 1.59㎢로 경기도 평균 대비 각각 1.5배 및 1.8배이며, 최소규모 소방기관인 119지역대가 다수로 소방안전 환경이 열악한 실정이다.

나아가 화성시 소방수요를 고려해 택지지구 인구밀집지역인 비봉지역 내 비봉119지역대의 안전센터로의 확대 및 양감·매송 등 기타 119지역대의 안전센터로의 순차적 확대를 비롯해 102만 특례시 및 구청체계에 걸맞은 권역별 소방서 신설 요청 등 지속적인 소방력 확충을 건의했다.
