27일 이 시장은 “이번 경기는 용인에서 열리는 대한민국 남자축구 국가대표팀의 첫 A매치 경기이자 FIFA 월드컵 본선 진출을 위한 중요한 경기인 만큼 미르스타디움 3만 7천여 관중석이 꽉 찰 것으로 예상된다”며 “경기장을 찾은 시민과 관중들이 안전하게 관람할 수 있도록 안전 조치를 취하고, 교통 불편을 덜기 위해 주차장을 여러 곳 확보해서 셔틀을 운영하는 등 대책을 세우는 일에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
