광주시 지속가능발전위원회는 위원장인 방세환 시장을 필두로 당연직 위원과민간 위촉직 위원 39명으로 구성돼 있으며 제도행정·복지문화·기후환경·미래도시·국토교통 총 5개 분과로 이뤄져 있다.
시는 지난해 ‘광주시 지속가능발전 기본 및 협의회 설치·운영에 관한 조례’를 제정해 제도적 초석을 마련하고 위원 구성 및 위원장 선출 등 여건 마련을 위해 노력해 왔다.
특히, 시는 위원회 간부들과의 간담회를 통해 위원회의활성화 방안을 논의하고 우호관계 증진 및 소통 활성화를 도모하고자 4일 간담회 자리를 마련했다.
시 관계자는 “위원회를 통해 제안되는여러 정책들을 시정에 녹여내고 지속가능한 발전 방향을 모색하는 데 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
