윤석열 대통령이 8일(현지시간) 싱가포르 경제인들을 만나 "새로운 50년을 함께 준비해야 할 때"라며 "한·싱가포르가 미래 첨단산업 혁신 파트너가 돼야 한다"고 강조했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 저녁 싱가포르 시내 한 호텔에서 대한상공회의소·싱가포르기업연합회가 공동 개최한 한·싱가포르 비즈니스 포럼에 참석해 기조연설에서 "두 나라가 혁신 파트너이자 경제 안보 핵심 파트너로 거듭날 것"이라며 이같이 밝혔다. 이날 포럼에선 양국 기업·기관 간 총 10건의 양해각서(MOU)가 체결됐다. 이 자리엔 양국 기업인·정부 관계자 등 250여 명이 참석했다.
그러면서 "수교 이후 지난 50년간 양국이 자유롭고 개방된 경제를 지향하면서 서로 긴밀하게 협력해 오늘 성장을 이뤘다"며 "경제인 도전·성취 덕에 양국 간 교역은 400배 투자는 4000배 이상 크게 증가해 이제 싱가포르가 아세안 국가들 중 두 번째 큰 한국 교역·투자국이 됐다"고 말했다.
또 "현재 300개 넘는 한국 기업이 싱가포르에 진출해 활발히 협력하고 있다"며 "특히 싱가포르 랜드마크 마리나 베이 샌즈 호텔·창이 국제공항엔 한국 기업인들 땀·열정이 담겨 있다"고 강조했다.
이어 "한국은 전통 제조산업에서 첨단산업까지 세계 최고 수준 산업 포트폴리오를 갖추고 있다"며 싱가포르 혁신 환경·연구 인력과 한국 제조기술이 접목된 AI 기반 스마트 제조기술을 양국 협력 예로 들었다.
그러면서 "첨단산업 기술 협력 MOU를 바탕으로 양국 기업들이 협력해 다양한 분야에서 기술혁신이 일어날 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다"며 "스타트업 협력 MOU를 바탕으로 한국 스타트업은 싱가포르에서 테스트하고, 싱가포르 스타트업은 한국 대기업과 협력하며 첨단산업 생태계를 키워 나가길 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
더불어 "싱가포르는 120개, 600개 항구와 연결된 세계적 물류 중심지"라며 "한국 산업별 공급망 정보와 싱가포르 중계 무역 물동량 정보가 공유된다면 경제 안보 위기 상황에서도 상호 번영 기반을 유지할 수 있을 것"이라고 전망했다.
윤 대통령은 "이를 위해 공급망 파트너십 약정(SCPA·Supply Chain Partnership Arrangement)을 체결했다"고 전했다. 한국으로선 첫 번째 양자 간 공급망 파트너십 약정이다.
또 "LNG 협력 MOU를 통해 LNG 스왑·공동구매 협력을 통해 천연가스 수급·가격 안정을 싱가포르와 함께 도모할 것"이라며 "양국 기업들이 보다 효율적으로 공급망을 확충하고 경제 활동에 전념할 수 있도록 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
