지난 9일 개막된 ‘2024 세종축제’가 7만 2,000여 명의 방문객이 모이며 성공인 개막을 알렸다.
10일 세종시에 따르면 ‘2024 세종축제’는 지난해 세종축제 첫 날보다 4만여 명 이상의 관람객이 더 모인 것으로 나타났다.
특히 첫날 축제의 하이라이트 중 하나인 블랙이글스 에어쇼에는 중앙·호수공원 일원에 3만 4,000여 명이 모여 하늘을 수놓는 멋진 비행을 즐겼다.
공군 특수비행팀 블랙이글스는 행사장 상공으로 진입해 20여 분간 세종축제의 성공을 기원하는 고난도 곡예비행을 선보이며 방문객들의 성원에 호응했다.
이날 호수공원 곳곳에서는 ▲과거시험을 재현한 소통형 체험 연극 ‘세종! 인재를 뽑다’ ▲과학을 주제로 한 ‘경이로운 과학마술’ ▲세종한글·과학놀이터 ▲환경을 위한 작은 실천 ‘업사이클링 워크숍’ 등이 운영돼 어린이와 학부모들의 인기를 끌었다.
어린 자녀와 함께 즐길 수 있는 체험프로그램은 특히 가족단위 관람객들에게 큰 호응을 얻었다.
본격적인 저녁 개막행사에서는 왕 또는 귀인의 행차 등에서 볼 수 있는 대취타 연주와 행렬을 시작으로 나라의 평안과 태평성대를 기리는 태평무 공연이 웅장하고 화려하게 펼쳐졌다.
이어 축제 시작 전부터 시민들의 많은 관심과 기대를 받은 세계태권도연맹시범단의 공연이 이어졌다.
시범단은 흥겨운 음악에 맞춰 박진감 넘치는 태권도 대련과 역동감 있는 품새, 공중 격파 시범을 선보이며 시민과 관람객에게 즐거움을 선사했다.

첫날 축제 마지막은 호수공원의 상공으로 높이 쏘아올린 화려한 드론과 불꽃놀이로 축제의 대미를 장식했다.
이 공연을 보기 위해 호수공원 일대에만 약 2만 8,000여 명이 몰렸고 행사의 주무대인 호수공원뿐만 아니라 중앙공원, 이응다리 북측 전망대에서도 많은 시민이 환상적인 불꽃과 드론 공연을 감상했다.
