[브레이크뉴스경기남부=화성 이현준기자] 화성시는 동탄 일대를 ‘벤처기업육성촉진지구’로 11일 지정했다.
지정지구의 정식 명칭은 ‘화성동탄테크노폴 벤처기업육성촉진지구’이다.
화성시는 반도체·미래차·바이오 첨단 전략산업 클러스터와 연계된 권역별 거점을 중심으로 ‘화성시 권역형 테크노폴’을 추진해오고 있어 이번 중기부의 벤처촉진지구 지정을 통해 신성장?R&D 벨트 구축에 더욱 박차를 가한다.
벤처촉진지구는 벤처기업의 집적을 유도하거나 집적된 지역에 인프라를 지원해 협업형 한국형 벤처지구를 조성하고자 제1벤처가 열기를 띈 2000년부터 시작된 벤처기업 입지지원 제도다.
벤처촉진지구로 지정될 경우, 지구 내 벤처기업의 취득세와 재산세를 각 50%, 35% 감면하고, 개발부담금 등의 면제 혜택 등이 주어진다.
벤처촉진지구로 지정되기 위해서는 해당 지역에 위치한 중소기업 중 10% 이상이 벤처기업이어야 하고, 대학·연구기관 소재, 기반 시설 등의 요건을 충족해야 한다.
화성시에는 총 1,677개(’23.12.31. 기준 / 전국 3위 / 경기도 2위)의 벤처기업이 입주하고 있으며, 이번‘화성동탄테크노폴 벤처기업육성촉진지구’로 지정된 화성시 영천동, 방교동, 오산동, 석우동, 봉담읍 일원(면적 2.11㎢, 63.9만평 / 동탄테크노밸리, 동탄일반산업단지, 석우동 IT단지 및 수원대·협성대)에는 433개의 벤처기업이 입주하고 있어, 중소기업 중 벤처기업 비율이 18.7%를 차지하고 있다.
또한 지구 내에는 화성시창업지원플랫폼, 동탄소공인지원센터, 메이커스페이스, 화성 카이스트-사이언스 허브 등 창업·벤처지원기관과, 연구기관 4개소, 벤처기업 부설연구소 164개소, 대학 2개소(수원대, 협성대) 등 대학·연구기관이 위치해 있다.
이외에도 동탄역(SRT, GTX-A), 서동탄역(전철1호선), 경부고속도로(기흥동탄IC, 기흥IC), 용인서울고속도로, 광역버스(27개 노선) 등 광역 교통망과 기술보증기금·경기신용보증재단·기업은행 등 40여개소의 금융기관이 위치하는 등 벤처기업 입주 및 집적을 위한 최적의 투자·연구·교통 인프라를 갖췄다.
향후 화성시와 화성산업진흥원은 ‘화성동탄테크노폴 벤처기업육성촉진지구’를 제도적으로 지원하고 운영함으로써 동탄~판교~강남을 연결하는 반도체·R&D 산업벨트를 조성하고 지구 내 벤처기업의 집적화·협업화를 통한 시너지 효과를 창출해나갈 예정이다.
정명근 화성시장은 “화성시는 전국에서 최초로 도시의 전략산업과 벤처지구를 결합시켜 첨단 클러스터 혁신지구 모델을 만들 것”이라며 “화성시 권역형 테크노폴 제1호인 ‘화성동탄테크노폴 벤처기업육성촉진지구’에 대한 세제혜택, 육성계획 수립·시행 등 벤처·창업기업에 대한 제도적인 지원을 통해 동탄 일원을 벤처기업의 메카로 육성시키겠다”고 말했다.
이어 “나아가 생산·주거·문화·사람 중심 혁신 경쟁력을 갖춘 ‘화성시 권역형 테크노폴’을 지속적으로 확대해 화성시를 세계 최고의 기업도시로 성장시켜 나갈 것”이라고 말했다.
한편, 화성시는 현재 출자금 45억원 포함 687억원 규모의 ‘화성시 창업투자펀드’를 조성 및 운영 중이며, 앞으로도 화성시 전략산업 맞춤형 펀드를 2,000억원으로 확대 조성하는 등 벤처스타트업 투자 지원에 박차를 가하고 있다.
