윤석열 대통령이 15일 "제주도를 하늘나는 택시 'UAM(도심항공교통)' 시범운용구역으로 지정해 관광 사업화를 적극 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 제주특별자치도 제주국제자유도시개발센터에서 '세계로 열린 청정한 섬, 글로벌 휴양도시 제주' 주제로 열린 스물아홉 번째 국민과 함께하는 민생토론회에서 이같이 밝혔다.
'UAM'은 도심서 전기수직이착륙(eVTOL) 기술을 활용해 사람·화물을 운송하는 교통체계로 제주는 관광산업 활성화를 위해 'UAM' 시범운용구역 지정을 추진해온 가운데 한라산·성산일출봉 등 고지대 관광자원을 보유해 'UAM'·관광 사업 연계에 유리한 조건을 갖춘 것으로 평가된다.
또 "자녀와 함께 자연·문화를 학습하며 지적 소양을 높이는 인문학 관광으로 관광 틀을 바꿔나가야 한다"며 "내년 발표될 '제4차 어촌·어항발전 기본계획'에 해녀 어업 보존·발전방안을 마련하겠다"고 밝혔다.
지난 대선 공약이었던 제주 신항·제2 공항 관련해선 "제주 신항 건설이 원활히 추진될 수 있도록 제주도와 적극 협력하고 향후 예비타당성 조사 등 관련 절차를 꼼꼼히 챙기겠다"며 "제주 신항을 해운 물류·루즈 거점 항만으로 키우고, 제주 제2공항 건설을 제주도와 긴밀히 협력하겠다"고 밝혔다.
이어 제주 발전을 위한 연결과 특화·청정과 혁신·실질적 변화 등 3가지 비전을 제시 후 "제주 청정에너지·청정 산업 혁신을 적극 뒷받침해 제주가 무탄소 전환 우수 사례가 될 수 있도록 힘껏 돕겠다"며 "제주 대규모 그린수소 실증사업에 2026년까지 560억을 투입해 우리나라 실정에 맞는 그린수소 생산기술을 확보할 수 있도록 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "바이오가스로 수소를 생산하는 청정수소 생산시설 설치 지원사업에 제주가 참여를 신청할 경우 적극 검토하겠다"며 "제주 의료수요가 늘고 있는 데 반해 상급종합병원이 없고 의사 수가 적어 지역의료 인프라가 부족하다"고 말했다.
더불어 "제주에 상급 종합병원이 조속 지정될 수 있도록 지역 특성을 감안한 진료권역 재설정 등 제도 개선을 적극 검토하겠다"며 "중증 환자·감염병 대응을 위한 제주대병원·서귀포의료원 기능 확충을 차질 없이 지원하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
이 밖에 제주 자원순환 클러스터 조성 사업에 오는 2028년까지 413억을 투입해 재활용 산업 기반을 마련하고 258억을 투입해 제주시 아라2동 일원에 스마트 공동물류센터를 만들기로 했다.
