전남 보성군청에 따르면, 7년 전 전남 보성에 자신의 문학 공간 주월재를 열고 서울과 보성을 오가며 다양한 문화활동을 해온 시인 전향규(언론인) 씨가 2024년 보성군정 발전 유공자로 선정되어 공로표창을 수상했다.
11월4일 보성군청 대회의실에서 있은 '보성군정발전 유공자 표창수여식'에서 전향규 시인은 다양한 미디어를 통한 보성의 대외적 홍보에 앞장서온 공로가 인정되어 보성군으로부터 공로패를 받은 것.

전향규 시인은 그동안 전국의 지인들 2천여 명을 초청해 보성의 수려한 관광지는 물론 문화예술적 가치를 높여왔으며 언론인 출신답게 다양한 매체에 보성 알리는데 앞장서왔다.
이날 김철우 보성군수는 "보성의 문화 예술 관광 분야를 서울과 타 지역에 널리 홍보하는데 앞장서온 전향규 시인에게 각별히 감사하다"고 인사말을 했다.
