브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자는 5일 한국에너지공단과 가전제품 에너지절감 및 동반성장을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이날 삼성전자 수원사업장에서 열린 협약식에는 삼성전자 DA사업부 문종승 부사장, 한국에너지공단 이상훈 이사장 등이 참석했다.
이번 협약으로 △신기술이 적용된 제품이 신속히 시장에 도입될 수 있는 정책적·제도적 협력 △혁신 기술 연구 및 정보 교류 등 에너지 감축 기술 개발을 위한 기반 마련 △대국민 에너지절감 실천 확산 지원 등 다양한 분야에서 상호 협력하기로 했다.
특히, 삼성전자는 회사가 보유한 전문 기술을 바탕으로 고효율·저전력 기술을 선행 개발하고 신규 기술 현황, 업계 동향 등 연구 기술에 필요한 정보를 제공할 예정이다.
또한, 협력사의 온실가스 감축을 지원해 ESG 경영을 돕는 등 사회적 가치를 확산하기 위한 활동도 전개해 나갈 계획이다.
한국에너지공단 이상훈 이사장은 “전 세계적인 글로벌 에너지 위기와 탄소중립 등 에너지정책 패러다임의 전환이 가속화됨에 따라 에너지 효율 문제는 모든 분야에서 필수적으로 고민해야 할 문제”라며 “협약 이후 가전제품의 에너지절감과 중견·중소기업과의 동반성장까지 공기관과 대기업 간의 모범적인 협력 사례를 만들어가고자 한다”고 전했다.
삼성전자 DA사업부 문종승 부사장은 “삼성전자는 압도적인 기술력을 바탕으로 고효율 제품을 개발하고 AI 기반의 에너지 절감 기능을 적용하는 등 가전 에너지 소비량 감소를 위해 노력해 왔다”며 “이번 협약을 계기로 신규 기술 개발, 협력사 지원 등 지속 가능한 미래를 위해 더욱 긴밀히 협력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 삼성전자는 지난 7월 소비자시민모임이 주최하고 산업통상자원부, 환경부, 한국에너지공단이 후원하는 ‘제27회 올해의 에너지위너상’ 시상에서 6년 연속 ‘에너지 대상’, 3년 연속 ‘탄소중립위너상’을 수상한 바 있다.
