신천지예수교 증거장막성전(이하 신천지예수교회)는 11월15일 보도자료에서 “신천지예수교 증거장막성전(이하 신천지예수교회)가 15일 정오 경기도 수원시 영통구 경기도청 앞에서 수만 명이 모여 ‘편파적인 종교탄압 규탄 결의대회’를 열었다. 이날 결의대회는 헌법이 보장하는 종교의 자유 수호와 편파적 종교탄압에 대한 강력한 항의의 의미에서 개최됐다”고 알렸다.

이에 대해 신천지예수교회는 앞선 입장문 등을 통해 “대관 당일 취소는 편파적 종교탄압이고, 헌법 제20조 종교의 자유와 정교분리 원칙을 위반한 것”이라며 “정치가 종교에 간섭해 종교의 자유를 침해하고 두 개의 국민을 만든 것”이라고 비판했다.
신천지예수교회는 이날 결의대회에서 경기도와 경기관광공사의 행태를 강도 높게 비판했다. 수만 명이 도청 앞에 모여 ‘경기도와 경기관광공사는 즉시 사과하라’, ‘대규모 국제 행사 피해 수백억 원 배상하라’ 등의 구호를 외치며 규탄했다.
