브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국가정보원은 20일 러시아에 파병된 북한군들이 최전선에 투입돼 우크라이나군과 전투를 벌이고 있다고 20일 밝혔다.
국회 정보위원회 여야 간사인 이성권 국민의힘 의원과 박선원 더불어민주당 의원은 이날 국회에서 열린 정보위원회 전체회의에서 국정원 측 관계자가 참석해 이같이 정보보고 했다고 전했다.
양 간사에 따르면 북한 11군단 병력 중심으로 구성된 1만1000여명은 러시아 동북부에서 현지 적응 훈련을 마치고 10월 하순경에 쿠르스크로 이동 배치됐다.
국정원은 "북한군은 러시아 공수여단과 해병대에 배속돼 전술 및 드론 대응 훈련을 받고 있고, 일부는 전장에 투입된 것으로 파악하고 있다"면서 "사상자가 발생했을 것으로 보이나 구체적인 상황과 피해 규모는 파악하고 있는 중"이라고 설명했다.
일부 언론 또는 SNS 등을 통해 전해지는 북한군의 전투 장면 및 사망, 투항 등의 내용에 대해선 "사실관계가 상충하는 정보가 많기 때문에 정확한 사실을 파악하고 있는 중"이라고 답변했다고 한다.

국정원은 아울러 지난 4일 최선희 북한 외무상과 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령이 면담을 한데 대해선 "러시아와 북한이 흔들림없는 관계임을 과시할 목적으로 최 외무상이 러시아를 방문한 것으로 파악하고 있다"라며 "이번 면담은 단순히 의전용이 아니었을 것으로 판단하고 있다. 상당히 중요하고 민감한 얘기들이 있었을 것이다. 특히 김정은 위원장의 방러 가능성도 조심스럽게 제기된다"고 했다.
