한중도시우호협회는 11월21일 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장(서울미디어대학원대학교 석좌교수)이 중국 외문국(外文局) 아시아태평양 커뮤니케이션센터가 설립한 아태싱크탱크(亞太智庫ㆍAPC Think Tank) 국제 자문위원으로 위촉됐다”고 알렸다.
보도자료에 따르면, 아태싱크탱크는 중국 외문국 아시아태평양 커뮤니케이션센터가 지난 2022년 10월 설립한 산하연구기구. 최근 국제 관계 전문가 몫으로 권 회장을 국제 분과 자문위원으로 영입한 것으로 알려졌다. 아태싱크탱크는 아시아태평양 지역에 대한 연구를 목적으로 설립됐으며, 국제ㆍ전략ㆍ학술ㆍ행업(行業) 등 4개 분과 자문위원회에 분과별 3명씩 모두 12명의 중국 및 해외 자문위원으로 구성돼 있다.
아태싱크탱크는 홈페이지에서 권 회장에 대해 "한중도시우호협회를 설립해 중한 교류에 앞장서는 중국 인민의 최고 친밀한 한국인"으로 소개했다.
China Asia-Pacific Think Tank Appoints Kwon Ki-sik, Chairman of the Korea-China Cities Friendship Association, as International Advisory Committee Member

On November 21, the Korea-China Cities Friendship Association announced in a press release that “Kwon Ki-sik, Chairman of the Korea-China Cities Friendship Association (Professor Emeritus at Seoul Media Graduate School) has been appointed as an international advisory committee member of the Asia-Pacific Think Tank (亞太智庫ㆍAPC Think Tank) established by the China Foreign Languages Administration’s Asia-Pacific Communication Center.”
According to the press release, the Asia-Pacific Think Tank is a research institute established by the China Foreign Languages Administration’s Asia-Pacific Communication Center in October 2022. It has been reported that Chairman Kwon was recently recruited as an international division advisory committee member as an international relations expert. The Asia Pacific Think Tank was established for the purpose of research on the Asia Pacific region, and is comprised of 12 Chinese and overseas advisory members, 3 per division, in four advisory committees: international, strategic, academic, and administrative.
On its website, the Asia Pacific Think Tank introduced Chairman Kwon as "the most intimate Korean of the Chinese people who has established the Korea-China City Friendship Association and is leading the way in Sino-Korean exchanges."
