세종시의회, 세종지방법원 조속 추진 성명서 전달

세종시의회는 27일, 39만 세종시민의 염원인 세종지방법원 건립 조속 추진을 건의하는 성명서를 국회에 전달했다.

이날 임채성 세종시의회 의장은 국회를 방문해 이 지역 국회의원인 강준현 의원과 함께 예산결산특별위원회 박정 위원장과 국회교통위원회 간사인 문진석 의원을 만나 세종지방법원 조기 착공과 충분한 예산확보를 건의하며 국회 차원의 관심과 지원을 요청했다.

임채성 의장은 “지난 2020년 6월 강준현 의원이 최초 발의한 세종지방법원 설치법안이 4년 3개월 만에 통과되는 쾌거를 이루어낸 만큼 세종지방법원 설치를 위한 준비와 착공을 신속히 진행하기 위해서는 예산확보가 매우 중요하다”며, “세종지방법원 설치는 대한민국의 균형 발전을 실현하는 중요한 계기가 될 뿐만 아니라, 대한민국 행정수도로서 기본 틀을 갖추는 역사적 전환점이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

한편, 세종시의회는 지난 18일 여야 20명 의원 전원이 동참한 “세종지방법원 조속 추진 성명서”를 채택한 바 있다.
