10일 경주시에 따르면 이번 평가는 경상북도가 주관했으며, 식품안전관리와 공중위생 주요 시책, 우수사례 등 19개 항목을 기준으로 심사가 진행됐다.
경주시는 △식품위생관리 △식중독 예방 △식생활 환경개선 △공중위생서비스 평가·점검 △도내 최초 음식점 위생등급 특화구역(식품안심존) 조성 등 다양한 사업에서 성과를 거둬 높은 평가를 받았다.
특히 이번 2관왕 수상은 경주시가 차별화된 식품안전관리 체계와 체계적인 공중위생관리, 혁신적인 정책을 성공적으로 추진한 결과로 평가된다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “2025 APEC 정상회의를 앞두고 식품안전 및 공중위생 관리 분야에서 큰 성과를 인정받아 매우 뜻깊다”며, “시민과 방문객 모두가 안심할 수 있는 환경을 조성해 안전하고 신뢰받는 도시를 만들기 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
