청년지도자육성장학은 정각원 연등 동참금과 장학금 모금활동을 통해 장학기금으로 마련된 재원으로 불교적 소양을 갖추고 신행과 포교를 실천하는 청년 불자 양성을 목적으로 조성되었다.
이번 수여식에서는 정각원에서 시행하는 멈추고 바라보기 수행, 이완명상, 마음아, 똑똑!, 자기자비 증진 프로그램, 수계법회, 토요법회, 전 동국인 아침예불, 재학생 사찰탐방 등 각종 신행 프로그램에 적극적으로 참여하고 사회봉사활동이 우수한 학생 30명을 선발하여 총 9백만원의 장학금을 수여했다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스 정각원장 철우스님은 “정각원은 학생들이 친숙하고 편안하게 참여할 수 있는 다양한 신행프로그램을 운영하고 있다”며 “이러한 신행 프로그램과 장학금 지원을 통해 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 학생들이 한국 불교 발전을 위한 인재 양성을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 말했다.
