한국법무보호복지공단 서울지부(지부장 이현미)는 12월 11일 웨딩그룹 위더스(영등포구 소재)에서 ‘법무보호복지대회’ 및 ‘제40회 아름다운 합동결혼식’을 개최하였다.
제1부 행사로 진행된 ‘법무보호복지대회’에서는 출소자에 대한 부정적인 인식을 개선하기 위해 법무보호복지사업에 적극적으로 참여한 유공 자원봉사자 70명에게 한국법무보호복지공단 이사장, 서울시장, 서울중앙지방검찰청 검사장, 서울남부지방검찰청 검사장, 서울교정청장, 전국법무보호위원연합회장, 서울지부협의회장 등의 표창을 시상하였다. 이 대회는 법무보호사업에 헌신한 자원봉사자들의 노고를 치하하는 자리로, 자원봉사자들의 화합과 법무보호사업의 활성화를 도모하는 시간을 가졌다.

제2부 행사로 진행된 ‘제40회 아름다운 합동결혼식’에서는 경제적 어려움 등으로 인해 결혼식을 올리지 못하고 있는 6쌍의 법무보호대상자가 합동 예식을 통해 새로운 삶과 미래를 약속하는 자리를 가졌다. 이를 위해 웨딩그룹 위더스(영등포)는 예식장 대관 및 웨딩드레스 대여 등 2천 400여만 원의 결혼 비용을 무상으로 지원하였다.
황영기 한국법무보호복지공단 이사장은 서울지부 보호위원들과 유관기관 직원들에게 “편견 없는 마음으로 보호대상자의 성공적인 사회 정착을 위해 노력해 주셔서 보호대상자들이 성공적으로 우리 곁으로 돌아올 수 있었다”며 감사의 말씀을 전했다.
또한 이숭희 서울지부협의회장은 인사 말씀으로 “법무보호위원들의 헌신적인 태도와 열정으로 이웃과 사회를 위해 튼튼한 사다리가 되어 서울지역을 더 아름답게 만들어주셔서 감사하다”라고 하였다
