유원골프재단(이사장 김영찬)은 13일, 초등학생 골프 선수 중 모범적이고 학업 성적이 우수한 인재를 대상으로 ‘2025 유소년 성적우수 장학생’을 선발했다고 밝혔다.
재단은 지난 9년간 골프 꿈나무들에게 안정적인 훈련 환경을 제공하기 위해 유소년 골프 장학생 선발 사업을 진행해왔다. 이번 장학생 선발은 대한골프협회 주니어상비군 랭킹에 따라 공정하게 이루어졌으며, 최종 20명의 장학생에게는 연간 300만 원씩 총 6천만 원의 장학금이 지원된다. 이 장학금은 해외 전지훈련비, 대회 참가비, 훈련비, 용품 구입비 등으로 사용될 예정이다.
선발된 김서아(안양초6) 학생은 “유원골프재단에 감사드리며, 앞으로도 성실히 연습해 좋은 기회를 잡아내는 선수가 되겠다”고 소감을 전했다.
유원골프재단은 지금까지 160명의 유소년 성적우수 장학생을 선발해 누적 5억 원을 지원했으며, 이들 중 일부는 각종 대회에서 우수한 성적을 거두며 한국 골프계를 이끌어갈 인재로 성장하고 있다. 예를 들어, 강승구(남성고1)는 여러 대회에서 우승을 차지했으며, 이효송(마산제일여고1)은 JLPGA 투어 메이저 대회에서 아마추어 신분으로 우승한 바 있다.
김영찬 이사장은 “유원골프재단은 골프 꿈나무의 도약과 성장을 위해 지속적인 후원을 이어가고 있으며, 앞으로도 다양한 지원 사업을 통해 차세대 글로벌 선수를 양성할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
재단은 2015년 설립 이후 국내 골프 인재 육성을 위한 장학금 지원과 국제 대회 참가비용 지원 등 다양한 사업을 운영하며 유소년 골프 인재 발굴에 앞장서고 있다.
Yewon Golf Foundation Selects 2025 Youth Academic Excellence Scholars
The Yewon Golf Foundation (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced today that it has selected the 2025 Youth Academic Excellence Scholars, who are exemplary golfers in elementary school and have excellent academic performance.
The Foundation has been selecting youth golf scholars for the past nine years to provide a stable training environment for aspiring golfers. The selection of the scholars was done fairly according to the Korea Golf Association Junior Standby Ranking, and the final 20 scholars will receive a total of KRW 60 million in scholarships worth KRW 3 million per year. The scholarships will be used for overseas training, tournament participation, training, and equipment purchases.
Kim Seo-ah (Anyang Elementary School 6), who was selected, said, “I am grateful to the Youwon Golf Foundation, and I will continue to practice diligently and become a player who seizes good opportunities.”
The Yewon Golf Foundation has so far selected 160 youth scholars and provided a total of KRW 500 million in support, and some of them have excelled in various tournaments and are growing into talents who will lead the Korean golf industry. For example, Kang Seung-gu (Male High School 1) has won several tournaments, and Lee Hyo-song (Masan First Girls High School 1) has won a JLPGA Tour major as an amateur.
“The Yewon Golf Foundation continues to support the growth and development of golf dreamers and will continue to foster the next generation of global players through various support programs,” said Kim Young-chan, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Since its establishment in 2015, the Foundation has been leading the way in discovering youth golf talent by providing scholarships to foster domestic golf talent and supporting international tournament participation fees.
