브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT는 고객이 수신하는 문자의 스팸 위험도를 판단해 경고 메시지를 표시하는 ‘스팸 의심문자 알림 서비스’를 출시한다고 17일 밝혔다.
이용자는 별도로 서비스에 가입할 필요 없이 무료로 삼성전자 단말에 자동 적용되며, 고객이 수신하는 SMS(단문메시지서비스)에 대해 스팸 의심여부를 표시한다. 내년부터는 MMS(멀티미디어메시지)까지 적용이 확대될 예정이다.
아울러 KT는 점점 고도화되는 스미싱 범죄 피해 예방을 위해 기존에 제공하고 있던 무료 부가서비스인 ‘KT 스팸차단 서비스’도 강화한다. 악성 스미싱 URL뿐 아니라 URL의 최종 IP까지 추적해 차단하는 기능을 내년 1월까지 적용 예정이다. 이로써 스팸차단 서비스를 피하기 위해 URL을 계속 바꾸던 변작 행위까지 원천적으로 막을 수 있다.
한편, KT는 지난 9월 마이케이티 앱에서 ‘스미싱 지킴이’ 서비스를 출시했다. 문자 카카오톡 라인을 통해 받은 메시지의 URL이나 설치파일을 클릭할 경우, 자동으로 스미싱 불법사이트 연결 여부를 파악해 자동으로 차단한다. 스미싱 지킴이 서비스는 KT 마이케이티 앱을 설치하면 누구나 무료로 이용할 수 있다.
KT AX혁신지원본부장 이병무 상무는 “KT는 고객의 안전한 통신 생활을 지키기위해 스미싱과 피싱 범죄를 차단하는 솔루션을 지속 선보이고 있다”며 “앞으로도 KT의 차별화된 예방 기술을 적용해 고객 보호에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
