진주시, 저소득ㆍ취약계층 건강보험료 지원 ‘우수기관’ 선정

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 18일 국민건강보험공단으로부터 ‘저소득ㆍ취약계층 건강보험료 지원 우수기관’으로 선정돼 감사패를 받았다고 밝혔다.

진주시는 지난해 4월까지 65세 이상 어르신, 등록장애인, 한부모가정 중 월 건강보험료 1만 원 이하의 지역가입자인 1800세대에 건강보험료를 전액 지원했다.

시는 지난해 5월부터 저소득 취약계층의 경제적 부담 줄이기 위해 건강보험료 1만5000원 이하의 4100세대로 확대, 지원금 2억여원에서 5억2000여만원으로 늘려 지원하고 있다.

지원 방법은 별도의 신청 절차 없이 매월 공단에서 지원 세대와 보험료를 통보받아 적정 여부를 확인해 공단에 일괄 납부하고, 해당 세대에는 보험료 지원 사실을 우편으로 안내한다.

국민건강보험공단은 지역사회 저소득 취약계층의 건강보험 수급권을 보호하고 사회보장제도의 정착에 크게 이바지한 공로로 진주시에 감사패를 수여한다고 전했다.
