한중도시우호협회는 12월18일 보도자료에서 “한중도시우호협회(회장 권기식)는 18일 오후 중국 장쑤(江蘇)성 이춘(宜春)시 소재 완자이외국어학교(萬載外國語學交ㆍ대표 교장 중밍鍾鳴) 회의실에서 장쑤문광국제교류센터(대표 왕젠춘-王建春)와 한중 청소년 문화교류를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다”고 알렸다.

이 자료에 따르면, 두 기관은 업무협약 체결 후 내년 1월 2천명의 중국 초등학생들을 한국 인천으로 보내 한중 학생교류를 하기로 합의했다. 두 기관은 한중 학생 교류를 위해 박인배 인천 경원초등학교 교장과 김용주 인천 신흥초등학교 교장을 포함한 인천 중국 교육참관단(단장 권기식 한중도시우호협회장)을 구성해 장쑤성을 방문했으며, 양교 교장들은 17일 중국 장쑤성 쑤저우(蘇州) 소재 상하이세외(世外)교육그룹 부설 우장윈룽(吳江雲龍)실험소학교(교장 리샤오바오李少保), 18일 장쑤성 이춘(宜春)시 소재 완자이외국어학교(萬載外國語學校)와 한중 교류를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
참관단은 지난 12월18일 오후 완자이외국어학교 회의실에서 한중 교육 교류 간담회를 열었다. 이날 간담회에는 한국에서 권 회장과 박인배 인천 경원초등학교 교장과 김용주 인천 신흥초등학교 교장, 류잉춘(劉永春) 협회 상하이지회 비서장 등이 참석했고, 중국에서는 중밍 대표 교장과 왕펀(王芬) 초등학교장, 신민(辛敏) 중학교 교장 등이 참석했다.
2025년 1월 중국 초등학교 학생 2천명이 한국을 방문하면 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 최대 규모의 중국 학생 교류 방문이 이뤄지는 것이다.
권기식 회장은 "한중도시우호협회는 중국 교육당국과 협력해 한중 청소년 문화교류가 활발히 이루어지도록 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
