세종시 행정수도 완성 특별위원회(이하 ‘특위’)는 지난 20일 행정수도 완성을 위한 혁신적 방안을 모색하기 위해 강준현 국회의원과 간담회를 개최했다.
이번 간담회는 지역 균형 발전과 수도권 과밀 해소를 목표로 행정수도 관련 주요 이슈를 논의하고 협력 방안을 마련하기 위해 마련됐다.
간담회에는 특위 박란희 위원장, 안신일 부위원장, 김충식 위원, 이순열 위원이 참석했다.
특위는 또 간담회에서 국회세종의사당과 대통령 제2집무실 건립 추진 상황을 심도 있게 검토했다. 특히, 국가상징구역 내 주요 시설들의 단계적 건립을 위한 예산 확보 방안이 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다.
아울러, 사업비 축소를 방지하기 위한 법적 장치 마련의 중요성이 강조되었다. 정부 예산안 편성 과정에서 사업 규모가 축소되는 것을 사전에 방지하고, 사업의 지속 가능성을 보장하기 위해 관련 법 개정 및 규정 강화의 필요성이 논의됐다.

박란희 위원장은 “이번 간담회는 국회와 지방정부 간 협력의 필요성을 다시 한번 확인하는 계기가 되었다”며, “앞으로도 지속적인 협력으로 행정수도 완성을 차질 없이 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
특위는 앞으로도 릴레이 정책 간담회를 개최하여 행정수도 완성을 위한 주요 정책과 당면 과제들을 점검하고, 대응 방안을 모색할 예정이다.
간담회 이후 강준현 의원은 오는 30일 14시에 기자회견을 열고 국회세종의사당과 대통령 제2집무실 건립 추진 상황을 상세히 보고할 예정이다.
