필자(브레이크뉴스 발행인)는 일상(日常)에서 페이스북으로 의사소통을 해왔다. 최근에는 ’sns(대인 관계망 서버스) 저널리즘’이란 신종 단어가 생겨날 정도로 sns가 소통(소통)의 도구로 부상했다.

페이스 북 친구 가운데 황산 박사가 있다. 이 분이 페이스북에 2005년 한 해, 우리나라의 경제사정을 전망하는 글을 올렸다. 한국 경제가 잘 풀린다는 말이 아닌, 그 반대의 우울한 전망이다.
황산 박사는 “지금 언론에서 조심조심 보도하고 있지 않지만, 우리나라 경제는 이미 초비상상태였고, 기획재정부와 대기업들과 한국은행은 대책 마련으로 숨통 헐떡이고 있었는데 대안이 거의 없었다. 탄핵 정국 때문에 경제가 힘겨워지고 불확실한 것이 결코 아닌 것이다. 이미 휘청거리고 있고 그 사실을 숨겨왔을 뿐”이라면서 “이미 중소기업들은 줄 도산되고 있었고, 자영업자들은 문을 닫고 빚더미에 올라섰으며, 가을부터 대기업들은 보이지 않게 구조조정을 하며 퇴직 릴레이가 이어지고 있다”고 썼다.
이어 “지금 국민들의 삶이 참 팍팍하다. 금리 인상으로 온 국민이 채무 원금은 고사하고 이자를 갚는데 월수입의 상당 분(많은 경우 50% 이상)을 지출하고 있고, 소위 값비싼 아파트를 소유한 사람들도 이자 원금 부담 때문에 지출을 극도로 줄이고 있다. 이것이 내수 위축의 배경이다. 청년들도 돈이 없다. 그리고 미래도 불확실하다”고 내다봤다.
경제가 어려워지면 에에 따른 대응(對應)이 필요하다. 황산 박사는 이 글에서 “그러므로 2025년에는 마음 단단히 먹고, 지출을 줄이고, 미리 돈을 비축해야 하고, 자영업자들은 망할 준비를 하고 폐업 타이밍을 정해야 하고, 중소기업들 역시 충격파를 예상하고 대비해야 한다. 뭐, 대기업이야 끄덕없다. IMF 충격으로 어마어마한 달러를 모아두어 직원들만 좀 잘라내면 몇 년간 버티어 낼 수도 있다. 하지만 장기적 전망이 어두워서가 문제”라고 지적하면서 “지금보다 더 소비를 줄이는 것이 지혜다. 나 역시 엄청 줄이고 있다. 여러분도 돈 안 쓰고, 아끼고, 비축하라고 말씀드리고 싶다”고, 그 대응 방안을 적시했다.
대한민국의 2025년 한 해는 고통의 기간이 될 것이라는 예측이다. 뒤틀린 국내외 정치상황, 미중(美中) 갈등에 따른 세계경제의 어려움, 소득저하의 국내 상황 등 여러 가지 복합적인 변수에 따라 한해의 경제상황이 매우 어려울 것이라는 진단이다.

불안이 멀리서 가까이로 엄습해온다는 분석이다. 사회적인 불안이 눈에 띄는 시대라고 소리친다. 이런 암울(暗鬱)한 시기, 비관(悲觀)으로 침몰(沈沒)이 아닌, 어려움을 극복해내는 절제(節制)와 절약(節約)의 지혜가 필요함을 지적한다.
가진 돈을 절약하면서 살 수밖에 없는, 보유한 돈을 아껴서 쓸 수밖에 없는, 불안한 경제상황의 시대가 다가온다고 한다. 이런 시대, 희망(希望)이 필요하다. 경제난으로 식생활이 어려운 지경에 처한다면, 세계적으로 유명해진 한국산 라면이라도 끓여먹으면서, 희망을 간구(懇求)해야만 한다. moonilsuk@naever.com
