[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 27일 이반성면 가산일반산업단지에서 ‘미래항공기체(AAV) 실증센터 구축사업 착공식’을 개최했다.
AAV 실증센터는 자율비행항공기 연구 및 실증시험, 비행시험까지 운용 체계를 검증할 수 있는 국내 최초의 시험센터로, 1만1000㎡의 부지에 총 사업비 297억원이 투입된다.
이번 사업은 지난 6월 실시설계역 최종보고회를 거쳐 내년 하반기 준공 예정이며, 오는 2026년 상반기부터 본격적인 운영에 들어갈 계획이다.
센터는 분산 추진 시험실, 하이브리드 전기 추진 시험실, 제어 통합 시험실, 격납고, 프롭/로터 시험장 등 주요 시설을 갖추고, 시험 및 인증 기능을 종합적으로 지원할 예정이다.
이를 통해 AAV 부품 및 기체 제작 기업과 관련 공공기관을 유치하고, 기체 인증 및 생산 과정까지 일련의 업무가 한 곳에서 이루어질 수 있는 환경이 조성된다.
진주시는 AAV 실증센터와 함께 인증지원시설, 기체 시험평가 시설, 연구시설, 기체 생산기업을 집약해 지역경제 활성화 및 양질의 일자리 창출을 도모할 계획이다.
