원자력환경공단, 방사성폐기물 관리 기술위원회 발족

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국원자력환경공단(이사장 조성돈)은 30일 공단 본사에서 방사성폐기물 관리 사업에 대한 산/학/연 전문가 의견수렴을 위한 ‘방사성폐기물 관리 기술위원회’ 발족식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

방사성폐기물 관리 기술위원회는 김용완 공단 부이사장을 위원장으로 하여 공단이 수행하는 방사성폐기물 관리 사업의 기술적인 현안사항을 검토하고 사업 추진 방향에 대한 의견을 제시하는 위원회이다.

본 위원회의 목적은 중·저준위 및 고준위 방사성폐기물 관리 사업의기술적인 의사결정 사항을 내부 절차에 의해서만 결정하는 것이 아닌 전문가 집단의 종합적인 검토 의견을 사업에 반영하는 것으로, 투명한 업무추진을 통한 사회적 수용성의 추가적인 확보가 기대된다.

이날 발족식에서 방사성폐기물 특성, 핵종분석, 천연방벽, 안전성평가 등 방사성폐기물 관련 다양한 분야전문가 41명을 기술위원으로 위촉하였으며,향후 안건별로 관련 분야 기술위원을 초빙하여 주기적으로위원회를 개최할 예정이다.

김용완 공단 부이사장은“방사성폐기물 관리 기술위원회 운영을 통해 국내 방사성폐기물 관리 사업의 공공성, 전문성을 높일 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Korea Radioactive Waste Management Technology Committee Launched
