브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 한샘이 지역사회를 위한 사회적 책임을 다하며 의미있는 성과를 거두고 있다.
한샘의 대표적인 사회공헌 활동은 2001년부터 시작된 ‘주거환경 개선사업’이라 할 수 있다. 주거환경의 변화를 통해 삶의 질을 올리는 한샘 업(業)의 본질에 충실하면서도 지역사회에 실질적인 도움을 주고 있기 때문이다.
한샘의 주거환경 개선사업은 임직원들이 자발적으로 시작한 ‘한울타리’ 봉사활동에서 출발했다. 이후 2013년 사회공헌활동 출범식을 계기로 체계화됐으며 현재까지 947호의 주거환경을 개선했다. 올해에는 누적 1000호 돌파를 기대하고 있다. 특히, 2024년은 서울특별시사회복지협의회, 한국사회복지협의회, 마포구청으로부터 각각 표창과 감사패 등을 수상하며 공로를 인정받았다.
한샘의 주거환경 개선사업은 △노후 소방센터 환경개선 △그룹홈(공동생활가정) 개선 사업 △KBS 동행 프로그램 지원 제작 △지역아동센터 주거환경 개선 프로젝트 △마포구 효도밥상 지원 사업 사업 등으로 대표된다.

시흥 지역아동센터 15개소의 환경개선과 가구 지원이 완료됐다. 그 중 ‘즐거운 지역아동센터’는 오래된 주방 설비와 부족한 수납공간으로 불편을 겪고 있었다. 공간 상의 문제로 식사를 배식하는 동선이 효율적이지 않아 아이들의 안전도 우려되는 상황이었다.
한샘은 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 공간을 전체적으로 리모델링했다. 배식에 용이하게 뜨거운 국을 놓을 공간은 널찍하게 시공하고, 벽의 중앙을 뚫어 아이들이 배식 받을 수 있는 공간을 확보했다. 부족했던 수납공간은 한샘 빌트인장을 설치해서 수납을 넉넉하게 만들었다.
지역아동센터뿐 아니라 보호가 필요한 아이들이 생활하는 그룹홈(공동생활가정)의 환경 개선에도 적극 나서고 있다. 그룹홈은 부모의 사망·이혼·가정폭력 및 학대·가출 등으로 보호가 요구되는 아동들이 생활하는 소규모 아동보호시설이다.
또한, 한샘은 어르신들에게 단순 식사를 넘어 교류와 안부 확인의 창구 역할을 하는 ‘효도밥상’을 직접 지원하고 있다. 효도밥상은 마포구청에서 75세 이상 구민을 대상으로 하는 점심 무료급식 사업이다. 한샘은 2023년 12월 아현동 효도밥상을 시작으로 올해 공덕동 등에서 효도밥상 사업에 필요한 부엌과 가구를 설치하고, 휴게공간을 조성했다.
