거창군, 지역안전지수 생활안전분야 ‘2년 연속 1등급’ 선정

[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 행정안전부가 공표한 ‘지역안전지수’ 생활안전분야에서 2년 연속 1등급을 달성했다고 9일 밝혔다.

행정안전부는 2015년부터 매년 자지단체별 안전수준과 안전의식을 상대적으로 진단해 계량화한 후 교통사고 화재, 범죄, 생활안전, 자살, 감염병 등 6개 분야에 대해 1~5등급으로 공표하고 있다.

거창군은 2023년 통계를 기준으로 산정한 2024년 지역안전지수 생활안전분야에서 2년 연속 1등급, 화재분야는 1등급 상승한 2등급을 달성하며 도내 군부 공동 2위라는 성과를 거뒀다.

다만, 교통 분야와 범죄 분야에서 1등급씩 하락해 안전벨트 착용, 교통법규 준수 등의 군민 교통 의식 수준 향상과 아동안전지킴이집·자율방범대원수를 확대하는 등의 개선이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

구인모 군수는 “거창군이 군부 2위와 생활안전분야 2년 연속 1등급에 선정된 것은 안전한 거창을 위해 모두가 노력한 결과다”며 “앞으로도 경찰서 소방서 등 유관기관과의 긴밀한 협업을 통해 안전에 취약한 부분을 지속적으로 발굴·개선해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
