세종시교육청이 2025학년도 초등학교 예비소집 결과를 1월 13일 발표한 가운데 응소율이 95%에 이른것으로 나타났다.
이번 예비소집은 2018년에 출생한 적령아동과 조기입학을 신청한 2019년생 아동을 대상으로 실시되었으며, 총 4579명이 취학대상으로 확인되었다. 이는 지난해보다 283명 감소한 수치이다.
최근 3년간의 입학생 수를 살펴보면, 2022년에는 5555명, 2023년에는 5311명, 2024년에는 4862명이 입학한 바 있다.
저출생 문제로 인해 학령인구가 감소하면서, 입학예정자가 10명 이하인 초등학교는 8개교에 이르렀으며, 특히 연동초등학교는 입학예정자가 0명으로 나타났다.
입학예정자가 적은 학교는 소정초(4명), 쌍류초·감성초·전동초(각 6명), 의랑초(8명), 조치원명동초(9명), 장기초(10명) 등이다.
이번 예비소집에 참여한 아동은 4,579명 중 4,349명으로, 응소율은 95%에 달했다. 미응소자는 총 230명이며, 이 중 유예, 면제, 입학연기 등의 사유를 제외한 소재가 확인되지 않은 아동은 3명이다.
세종시교육청은 예비소집에 불참한 아동에 대해 학교에서 유선 연락 및 가정 방문을 통해 소재 파악을 진행하고 있으며, 1월 10일까지 소재가 확인되지 않은 3명에 대해서는 경찰 수사를 의뢰하여 정확한 소재를 파악할 예정이다.
최교진 교육감은 “예비소집에 응하지 않은 아동에 대해서는 경찰서 등 유관기관들과 긴밀한 협조체제를 통해 아동들의 소재와 안전을 확인하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”라며 아동들에 대한 강력한 보호 의지를 밝혔다.
