브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 지난해 김류의 산지 가격이 전년대비 약 2배 증가한 것으로 나타났다.
수협중앙회(회장 노동진)는 2024년 전국 수협 산지 위판장 214곳의 경매실적을 잠정 집계한 결과, 이같이 나타났다고 14일 밝혔다.
2024년 김류의 위판량은 53만6000톤으로 전년대비 4%(2만3000t) 증가했지만, 위판액은 6153억 원에서 1조1591억 원으로 88%(5438억 원) 증가했다.
이를 1kg당 단가로 환산하면, 2023년 1199원에서 2024년 2163원으로 2배 가까이 오른 것이다.
수협중앙회는 김 가격이 급등한 데 대해 "수산물 수출 품목 1위를 차지하고 있는 김에 대한 연간 국내외 수요가 높아지고 있지만, 공급이 따라가지 못해 김 가격이 높아진 것"이라고 분석했다.
실제로 김 양식 주요 생산지인 진도군수협은 이 같은 높은 김 가격 형성으로 지난해 위판액은 2023년보다 1387억 원 늘어 3024억 원을 달성했다.
이에 따라, 전국 91곳의 수협 중 연근해 수산물을 위판하고 있는 78곳 가운데 위판액 기준 1위로 올랐다.
또한, 이 수협은 작년 한 해 위판액이 가장 많이 늘어난 곳으로도 이름을 올렸다.
지난해 1위였던 민물장어양식수협(2,966억 원)은 2위를 차지했고, 제주어류양식수협(2,824억 원), 고흥군수협(2,732억 원), 신안군수협(2,294억 원)이 그 뒤를 이었다.
아울러 위판액이 가장 높은 어종은 김류(1조1,591억 원)로 뱀장어(4,496억 원), 갈치류(3,158억 원), 게류(3,003억 원), 넙치류(2,895억 원)도 상위 어종에 포함됐다.
노동진 수협중앙회장은 “연근해 수산물 생산량이 소폭 감소한 영향으로 산지 가격도 다소 높아지고 있다”며 “수산물 생산성이 높아질 수 있도록 자체 어가 지원은 물론, 국가적 지원도 지속 건의해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
