유한양행(대표이사 조욱제)은 10일, 면역항암제 개발 전문회사 박셀바이오(대표이사 이제중)와 국내 최초의 반려견 전용 유선종양 면역항암제인 박스루킨-15의 마케팅 및 판매에 관한 업무 협약을 체결했다.
박스루킨-15는 2024년 8월에 국내에서 최초로 반려견 전용 유선종양 면역항암제로 품목 허가를 받을 예정이다. 지난 12월에는 림프종으로 적응증을 확대하기 위한 품목허가 신청서를 농림축산검역본부에 제출했으며, 추가적인 적응증 확대를 위한 연구도 진행 중이다.
최근 9세 이상의 노령견 비율이 41.4%에 달하는 가운데, 반려동물의 노령화가 지속되고 있으며, 이로 인해 종양 발생률이 증가하고 있다. 노령견의 사망 원인 1위가 종양으로 보고되고 있어, 박스루킨-15에 대한 보호자들의 관심이 높아지고 있다.
유한양행의 조욱제 대표는 “부작용이 적은 3세대 면역항암제인 박스루킨-15의 정식 공급이 암으로 고통받는 반려동물과 보호자들에게 큰 도움이 될 것”이라고 기대감을 표명했다.
박셀바이오의 이제중 대표는 “유한양행의 전문 마케팅 조직과 유통망, 축적된 노하우가 박스루킨-15의 기술력과 결합해 시너지 효과를 낼 것”이라며, “적응증 확대와 함께 양사 간 협력이 강화되고 시장 수요도 증가할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
한편, 유한양행은 반려동물 관절주사 ‘애니콘주(AniConju)®’와 인지기능장애 치료제 ‘제다큐어’ 등을 출시하며 반려동물 시장을 선도하고 있다.
Yuhan Corporation and Baxelbio sign business agreement for immuno-oncology drugs for pets
Ltd. signed a business agreement with Baxelbio (CEO Cho Wook-je), a company specializing in the development of immuno-oncology drugs, on Tuesday to market and sell Boxlukin-15, the first mammary tumor immuno-oncology drug for dogs in Korea.
Boxlukin-15 is expected to be approved in August 2024 as the first mammary tumor immuno-oncology drug for dogs in Korea. In December, the company submitted an application to expand the indication to lymphoma to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Quarantine, and is also conducting research to expand additional indications.
The aging of pets is continuing, with the proportion of elderly dogs aged 9 years or older recently reaching 41.4%, and the incidence of tumors is increasing. Tumors are reported to be the number one cause of death in elderly dogs, which is why pet owners are increasingly interested in Boxlukin-15.
“We believe that the official supply of Boxlukin-15, a third-generation immuno-oncology drug with fewer side effects, will be of great help to pets suffering from cancer and their owners,” said Wookje Cho, CEO of Yuhan Corporation.

Meanwhile, Yoohan is leading the pet market with the launch of AniConju®, a joint injection for pets, and Jedacure®, a treatment for cognitive dysfunction.
