김태규 예장·통합 한빛교회 원로목사가 1월19일 별세했다. 발인 장소는 서울 아산병원 영안실 35호실. 발인은 1월 22일(수) 오전 8시.

경일중학교 영어교사와 교장, 대전신학대학교와 영남신학대학교 강사를 역임했다. 대전 현암교회, 대구 서남교회, 청주 대농교회를 거쳐 서울 한빛교회에서 은퇴하고, 서울 동남교회 공로목사로 추대되었다. 대한예수교 장로회(통합) 총회 인권위원장, 사형제도폐지위원회 위원장, KNCC(한국기독교교회협의회)의 한국교회제일동포인권선교협의회 전후배상위원장과 일본외등법문제대책 전국기독교연락협의회(일본)와 한국교회재일교포인권선교협의회가 공동편집한 「검지 손가락의 자유를 위하여」 한국측 편집위원, 서울 동남노회 노회장, 서울 강동교구협의회 회장을 역임했다.
1992년부터 1994년까지 기독교방송(CBS) 공산권 설교와 아침설교 「밝아오는 새 아침을 맞으면서」를 담당했다. 저서로는 『선한 목자 푸른 초장』, 『사랑이 있는 기나긴 대화, 편지』 등이 있다.
한빛교회 담임목사로 목회 중 만 68세로 조기 은퇴한 김태규 목사는 퇴직금 대부분을 모교인 장신대와 한국정신대문제대책협의회에 기부했다. 잘 알려지지 않았지만, 우리나라가 실질적인 사형제도 폐지국가로 자리 잡는 데는 김 목사의 헌신적인 공로가 매우 크다는 것이 교계의 중론이다.
