브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령은 20일(현지 시간) 북한에 대해 "핵 능력을 가졌다"고 평가하며 김정은 북한 국무위원장과 "매우 잘 지냈다"고 밝혔다.
AP통신에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 이날 백악관 집무실에서 북한에 대해 질문하는 취재진의 질문에 이같이 답했다.
트럼프 대통령은 "북한은 좋아졌었다고 생각한다. 나는 김정은에게 매우 친절했고 그도 나를 좋아했다. 나도 그를 좋아했다. 우린 매우 잘 지냈다"면서 "그들(오바마 행정부)은 북한이 커다란 위협이라고 생각했는데, 이제 그(김정은)는 핵 능력을 가졌다"고 평가했다.
특히 트럼프 대통령은 김정은 위원장과 다시 대화에 나설 수 있다는 의사를 거듭 내비쳤다.
그는 "우리는 잘 지냈다. 그도 내가 돌아온 것에 기뻐할 것이라 생각한다"고 했다.
트럼프 대통령은 아울러 "김정은은 해안을 끼고 있는 엄청난 콘도 부지를 갖고 있다고 생각한다"는 말도 했는데, 이는 북한 부동산 개발을 염두한 발언으로 보인다.
트럼프 대통령은 부동산 개발 사업으로 큰 성공을 거둔 기업가 출신이다.

US President Donald Trump said on the 20th (local time) that North Korea "has nuclear capabilities" and that he and North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un "got along very well."
According to the Associated Press, President Trump answered reporters' questions about North Korea in the Oval Office that day.
President Trump said, "I think North Korea has gotten better. I was very kind to Kim Jong-un, and he liked me. I liked him. We got along very well," adding, "They (the Obama administration) thought North Korea was a big threat, but now he (Kim Jong-un) has nuclear capabilities."
In particular, President Trump repeatedly expressed his intention to talk to Chairman Kim Jong-un again.
He said, "We got along well. I think he'll be happy to have me back."
President Trump also said, “I think Kim Jong-un has a huge condo site along the coast,” which seems to be a comment with North Korean real estate development in mind.
President Trump is a former businessman who has had great success in real estate development.
