KT&G장학재단이 위기 청소년의 건강한 성장과 사회 정착을 돕기 위해 지난 6일 한국소년보호협회에 ‘2025년 상상 리스타트(RESTART) 장학금’을 전달했다.
KT&G에 따르면 ‘상상 리스타트 장학사업’은 법무부 산하 한국소년보호협회와 협력하여 소년원 재원생 및 출원생 중 모범적인 생활 태도를 보이는 청소년들의 사회적 자립을 돕는 프로그램이다.
KT&G장학재단은 2016년부터 이 사업을 통해 지난해까지 총 625명에게 장학금을 지원하며 청소년들의 성장을 응원해왔다.
장학금은 검정고시 준비, 자격증 취득 등 교육 지원과 생활 지원 등의 목적으로 지급되며, 올해는 106명이 선발돼 혜택을 받는다.
안홍필 KT&G장학재단 사무국장은 “‘상상 리스타트 장학사업’은 위기 청소년들에게 희망을 선물하고, 밝은 미래를 향해 나아갈 수 있도록 돕는 소중한 발걸음”이라며 “앞으로도 청소년들이 안정적인 환경에서 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 따뜻한 손길을 내밀며 사회적 책임을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 2008년 설립된 KT&G장학재단은 교육 소외계층 지원과 미래 인재 육성을 위해 국내외에서 다양한 장학사업을 펼치고 있다.
또, 한국메세나협회와 함께 매년 문화예술 분야 장학생을 지원하며 청소년 예술인 발굴에도 기여하고 있다. 재단 설립 이후 누적 장학생 수는 1만 2천여 명에 달한다.
