한국 추사체 연구회 부회장인 제주 출신 서예가 화산 송정익 작가가 '추사체 필서(秋史體必書)'라는 획기적인 추사체 연구서를 출간(편저자) 했다.
이 책은 편저자인 송정익 서예가는 “추사체가 별것이 아니고, 여러분이 자기 멋대로 쓰고 있는 글씨가 추사체라 해도 틀린 말이 아닙니다. 대단히 개성적인 글씨이지요.”라고 주장하는 사람들에게 추사체가 서법에 따라 쓰인 글씨라는 것을 이 책을 통해 증명해 보였다.
송정익 서예가는 “추사 선생의 세대별 작품을 통해 추사체의 탄생을 짚으면서, 역대 서예가들이 서법을 열심히 본받고 그 본원으로 거슬러 올라가 한나라 예서를 깊이 탐구하는 입고(入古)의 과정을 밟으면서 추사체가 비로소 개성적인 글씨로 출신(出新)했다는 것을 증명하는 계기를 제시했다”고 강조하면서 “추사 선생의 예술 세계에 대한 입문 교본으로서, 크게 전 2편과 부록 전 3, 4부로 구성되어 있다”고 설명했다.
이 책의 1편은 추사 선생의 주옥같은 대표작 40여 점을 세대별(연대별)로 구분하여 수록함으로써 글씨가 추사 선생의 연세에 따라 변해가는 과정을 알 수 있도록 하였으며, 특히 당시 추사 선생이 중국의 서성 왕희지에 대한 생각을 「개첩고」를 통해 기록한 내용 전편을 수록하여 서예가들이 소장하여 연구하는 데 도움이 되도록 했다. 2편은 추사 선생의 글씨 260여 자를 안진경체의 정법과 비교하면서 추사체를 쓰는 법을 제시하는 한편, 중국의 서법과 견주어 추사체가 서법에 충실하면서도 예술적 가치가 극대화된 서체임을 증명하였다. 이를 통해 추사체가 서법에 크게 벗어남이 없고, 또한 법도에 구속받지 않은 파격적이고 개성적인 글씨임을 알 수 있도록 했다. 추사체 용필법을 통해 추사체를 연구하는 후학들이 쉽고 올바르게 추사체를 습득할 수 있도록 도해를 삽입하여 그림으로 표기했다.

부록으로는 연파 최정수 선생의 「추사체 연구본」을 수록, 추사 선생의 600여 자를 집계하여 추사체의 변형을 조망하고 큰 글씨로 변현되는 과정 등을 한 눈으로 볼 수 있도록 했다. 운남 조민희 선생이 「명언작품선집」에서 귀감이 되는 고사성어를 선별 수록한 것을 소개함으로써, 후학들이 문장과 더불어 고사성어를 통해 서예를 배우고 작품 활동을 할 수 있도록 했다.
송정익 서예가는 “추사의 높고 넓은 학문과 예술이 깃든 작품들을 통해 글과 서화, 그리고 시에 능한 추사 선생을 깊이 연구함으로써 후학들이 추사체를 사랑하고 널리 보급하는 데 도움이 되었으면 하는 바람”이라고 피력했다.

*송정익 서예가(한국추사체연구회 부회장) 약력
송정익 서예가는 경희대학교 교육대학원 서예문인화 교육자과정을 전공했다. 한남대학교대학원을 졸업했으며, 육군 대령으로 예편했다. 1997년 대한민국 서화대전에서 대상을 받은 후 한국예술대전 대상, 한국예술제대전 대상, 대한민국 무궁화대전 대상 등 각종 공모전에서 수상한 바 있으며, 한국서예협회 국전 입선, 대한민국 문인화대전 국전에서 입선하는 등 꾸준한 작품 활동을 하고 있다. 일본 동경 ZEN 전시(2022)에 참가한 바 있으며, 그 외에도 한국 예술협회 초대작가, 한국 추사연구회 초대작가, 한국서화작품대전 심사위원으로 활동했다. 현대 한국인 인물사에 등재되었으며(한국민족정신진흥회, 2022년), 대통령 표창, 국무총리 표창, 국방부 장관 표창, 국회 사무총장상, 행정안전부장관상 등을 수상했다.
가족으로 부인 오차숙 외 슬하에 1남 3녀를 두고 있다. 현재 한국추사체연구회 부회장, 한국예술협회 부회장, ㈜선진로지스틱스 부사장, 현산무역 대표로 재직 중이다.

The Jeju native calligrapher Hwasan Song Jeong-ik, vice president of the Korean Chusa Script Research Association, has published (and edited) a groundbreaking Chusa Script research book titled “Chusa Script Writing ().”
This book is written by Song Jeong-ik, a calligrapher and editor, who claims that “Chusa Script is nothing special, and it is not wrong to say that the handwriting you write however you want is Chusa Script. It is a very unique handwriting.” However, through this book, he proves that Chusa Script is a handwriting written according to calligraphy.
Song Jeong-ik emphasized that “by tracing the birth of Chusa Script through Chusa’s works by generation, he has provided an opportunity to prove that Chusa Script was born as a unique handwriting after the calligraphers of all generations diligently imitated the calligraphy and went back to its origins to deeply explore the Han Dynasty’s clerical script,” and explained that “It is an introductory textbook to Chusa’s artistic world, and is largely composed of two parts and appendices three and four parts.”
Part 1 of this book includes 40 or so of Chusa's masterpieces, categorized by generation (year), so that you can see how his handwriting changed as he aged. In particular, it includes the entire content of Chusa's thoughts on Wang Xizhi, a Chinese calligrapher, recorded in "Gaecheopgo" to help calligraphers collect and study them. Part 2 compares 260 or so of Chusa's handwriting with the correct method of An Jin-gyeong's calligraphy, suggesting how to use Chusa's calligraphy, and proves that Chusa's calligraphy is faithful to calligraphy while maximizing artistic value by comparing it to Chinese calligraphy. Through this, it is shown that Chusa's calligraphy is not significantly different from calligraphy, and is an unconventional and unique calligraphy that is not bound by rules. As an appendix, Yeonpa Choi Jeong-su’s ‘Chusa Che Study’ is included, which compiles about 600 of Chusa’s characters to provide a glimpse into the transformation of Chusa’s style and the process of its transformation into large letters. By introducing Yunnam Jo Min-hee’s ‘Anthology of Famous Sayings’ that selected exemplary idioms, it allows future generations to learn calligraphy and create works through idioms as well as sentences.
Calligrapher Song Jeong-ik expressed his hope that “by deeply studying Chusa, who was skilled in writing, calligraphy, and poetry, through works that contain Chusa’s high and wide academic knowledge and art, I hope that it will help future generations love Chusa’s style and spread it widely.”

*Calligrapher Song Jeong-ik (Vice President of the Korean Chusa Style Research Association) Biography
Calligrapher Song Jeong-ik majored in the Calligraphy and Literary Painting Educator Program at the Graduate School of Education at Kyunghee University. He graduated from the graduate school of Hannam University and retired as a colonel in the Army. After winning the grand prize at the 1997 Korean Calligraphy and Painting Competition, he has won awards in various competitions, including the Korean National Art Competition, the Korean Arts Festival Grand Prize, and the Korean Mugunghwa Grand Prize. He has been consistently active in his works, including winning an award at the Korean Calligraphy Association’s National Art Exhibition and the Korean Literary Painting Competition. He participated in the ZEN exhibition in Tokyo, Japan (2022), and also served as an invited artist of the Korean Arts Association, an invited artist of the Korean Chusa Research Association, and a judge of the Korean Calligraphy and Painting Competition. He was listed in the History of Modern Koreans (Korean National Spirit Promotion Association, 2022), and received the Presidential Citation, the Prime Minister's Citation, the Minister of National Defense Citation, the Secretary General of the National Assembly Award, and the Minister of Public Administration and Security Award.
He has one son and three daughters, including his wife, Oh Sa-sook. He is currently serving as the Vice President of the Korean Chusa Script Research Association, the Vice President of the Korean Arts Association, the Vice President of Seonjin Logistics Co., Ltd., and the CEO of Hyunsan Trading.
