[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 사단법인 거창사건희생자유족회는 14일 거창사건추모공원 역사교육관 영상실에서 이재운 거창군의회 의장을 비롯해 신원면 사회·기관 단체장, 유족회 회원 등 50여 명이 참석한 가운데 2025년 정기총회를 개최했다.
이날 정기총회는 2024년 사업결과 및 결산보고, 2025년 사업계획 및 예산안에 대한 심의, 제74기 합동위령제 및 추모식 일정 확정, 임원 선출 등의 순으로 진행됐으며, 거창사건사업소에서도 2025년 주요 현안 사업을 홍보하고 협조 사항을 전달했다.
이번 총회에서 연임이 결정된 이성열 회장은 1978년부터 37년간 공직생활을 했으며, 2019년 2월 유족회장으로 선출돼 거창사건을 알리고, 거창사건희생자 보상특별법 제정을 위해 대내외적으로 노력해 왔다.
이성열 유족회장은 “앞으로 유족회와 거창군 그리고 정부에서 거창사건희생자와 유족들의 명예 회복에 힘써 주시기 바란다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 올해 제74주기 거창사건희생자 제37회 합동위령제 및 추모식은 오는 4월 25일 거창사건추모공원에서 봉행될 예정이다.
