유엔관광청(UN Tourism)이 주관하는 대한민국 최우수 관광마을 후보지로 여수시 화정면 낭도가 선정됐다.
여수시는 18일 제5회 유엔관광청 최우수 관광마을 국내 대표 후보 마을로 화정면 낭도 여산 마을이 선정됐다고 이같이 밝혔다.
여수시에 따르면 최우수 관광마을 후보지 선정은 지난 2021년부터 지속가능한 지역 관광개발과 농어촌 인구감소 등 문제를 해결하기 위해 시행되고 있는 권위를 인정받고 있다고 했다.
이에 따라 선정기준은 농업, 임업, 축산업, 어업을 기반으로 하는 거주자 1만 5,000명 미만의 마을로 문화·자연 자원의 우수성, 경제·사회적 지속 가능성, 민관협력(거버넌스)등을 종합 평가해 모범이 되는 마을을 선정한다.
