세종시교육청이 2월 27일 제7기 주민참여예산위원회 위원 20명을 공개 모집하여 선정했다고 밝혔다. 이번 위원회는 공개모집을 통해 선정된 15명과 재정·예산 전문가 2명, 세종시교육청 국장 3명으로 구성된다.

위원 선발 과정에서는 성별, 지역, 경력, 연령대 등을 모두 고려하여 4명의 위원을 먼저 선정하고, 나머지 11명은 2월 21일 무작위 공개추첨을 통해 결정되었다.
제7기 주민참여예산위원회 위원들은 2025년 3월 1일부터 2027년 2월 28일까지 2년간 세종시교육청의 예산편성 과정에서 주민 의견을 수렴하고 제안 사업을 선정하는 등의 활동을 하게 된다.
