브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넥슨은 무료 블록코딩 플랫폼 ‘헬로메이플(HelloMaple)’의 웹 버전을 출시하고, 다양한 플랫폼 업데이트를 진행한다고 27일 밝혔다.
지난해 9월 정식 출시된 ‘헬로메이플’은 메이플스토리 IP를 기반으로 한 블록코딩 플랫폼으로, 출시 4개월 만에 누적 가입자 수 22만 명을 달성하는 등 공교육 현장의 많은 호응을 얻고 있다.
이번 ‘헬로메이플’ 웹 버전 출시를 통해 별도의 프로그램 설치 없이 웹에서 무료로 이용할 수 있다. 넥슨은 크롬북을 포함한 태블릿 환경에서도 서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 지원을 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
아울러 다양한 기능 업데이트가 진행된다. 교사 계정 한정으로 각 화면에 대한 설명을 확인할 수 있는 도움말 시스템과 가이드 기능이 추가되는 등 기타 이용 편의 기능이 강화된다. 보다 세밀한 블록 조립이 가능하도록 블록코딩 기능도 업데이트하여, 이용자들의 창작 자유도를 높이고 직관적이며 유연한 제작 환경을 제공한다.
또한, 컴퓨터 활용 능력을 기를 수 있는 ‘OX 메이플운동회’, ‘도전! 타자 히어로’ 등 공식 월드 2종과 재미있게 블록코딩을 배울 수 있는 놀이형 학습 콘텐츠 3종이 신규 출시된다.
넥슨은 신규 월드 출시를 기념해 오는 28일부터 한 달간 신규 월드 2종 플레이 이벤트 및 대회를 진행한다. 이벤트 참여자를 대상으로 ‘헬로메이플’ 웰컴 키트, 간식 세트 등 푸짐한 상품이 지급된다.
