충남 서산시가 영농부산물의 소각을 줄이고 산불 예방을 위해 ‘찾아가는 영농부산물 파쇄단’을 운영하고 있어 농업인들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.
서산시는 고령자 및 여성농업인들이 농기계 사용에 어려움을 겪는 점을 고려해, 반복적으로 발생하는 영농부산물 소각 행위를 근절하고자 이번 파쇄단을 추진하게 되었다.

파쇄 신청은 매월 읍면동 행정복지센터를 통해 접수받으며, 산림공원과 농업기술센터가 협력하여 현장에서 파쇄 작업을 진행한다. 파쇄단은 농가에서 발생한 고춧대, 깻대 등 농업 부산물을 수집해 100m 이내의 논과 밭에서 직접 방문하여 파쇄해준다.
서산시는 2월부터 산림재난특수진화대원 5명씩 2팀을 운영하며, 영농이 본격적으로 시작되기 전인 3월까지 집중적으로 파쇄 작업을 진행할 계획이다. 이 작업은 12월 말까지 계속될 예정이다.
