[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 산업통상자원부와 한국산업단지공단이 주관하는 2025년 산업단지 환경조성사업 패키지 공모사업에 진영농공단지가 선정됐다고 11일 밝혔다.

이번 공모 선정으로 시는 준공한 지 30년 가까이 경과한 진영농공단지에서 아름다운거리 조성 플러스사업과 노후공장 청년친화 리뉴얼사업을 추진해 새로운 활력을 불어넣어 MZ세대 근로자 유입을 유도한다.

시는 3년에 걸쳐 35억8,000만원을 투입해 공단 내부 도로에 스마트꽃길, 벽화존, 소공원, 스마트쉼터 등 아름다운거리를 조성하고 노후공장의 복지, 근로 녹지, 외관 환경을 청년친화형으로 개선한다.

특히 공단 관리사무소 옆 주차장 부지에 2026년 3월 준공을 목표로 건립중인 복합문화센터와 연계하면 보다 다양한 문화·휴식공간을 제공하고 근로환경을 개선할 수 있다.

시는 청년근로자들의 노후 공단이란 부정적인 인식을 개선해 시너지 효과를 기대하고 있다.

시 관계자는 “이번 공모사업 선정을 위해 TF 구성으로 역할 분담에 최선을 다해준 농공단지 입주기업체협의회와 김해연구원, 김해의생명·산업진흥원에 감사드리며 진영농공단지가 MZ세대 청년근로자 중심의 농공단지로 거듭나 전국 농공단지의 롤모델이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
