김해시-산림청, 소나무재선충병 방제 시범사업지 점검

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 산림청 이미라 차장이 11일 오후 2시 김해시 소나무재선충병 방제사업지를 방문했다.

이 차장은 이날 한림면 금곡리 38.8ha 면적의 소나무재선충병 수종전환방제 시범사업지를 찾아 김해시의 방제전략 설명을 듣고 소나무재선충병 확산 억제 방안에 대해 다양한 의견을 교환했다.

수종전환방제는 급속히 확산되는 소나무재선충병에 대응해 한정된 자원을 사용해 가장 효율적으로 방제하기 위해 올해 처음 도입됐다.

소나무재선충병 집단발생지를 대상으로 소나무를 전량 벌목해 수집·파쇄하고 이후 조림을 통해 산림을 복원하는 방식으로 진행된다. 방제 비용 대부분은 사업 과정에서 발생한 산물(원목)을 활용해 충당한다.

이 차장은 “김해시 방제사업 추진 중에 발생한 기술적, 절차적 문제나 어려움을 파악하고 김해시와의 협력과 지원을 통해 최선을 결과를 얻을 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

김해시 관계자는 “소나무재선충병 집단발생지는 저비용으로 높은 방제 효과를 낼 수 있는 수종전환 방제사업이 가장 효율적”이라며 “관내 집단발생지 현황조사로 사업대상지를 확대해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
