브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 지난해 경기 부진 여파로 주요 대기업의 사외이사 평균급여(연간)가 큰 폭으로 감소했다. 삼성전자, SK텔레콤 등 사외이사 보수 지급액 기준 상위 10개 기업 가운데 7곳이 급여를 줄였다.
2023년 사외이사 평균급여가 2억원을 넘었던 삼성전자는 지난해 약 10%가까이 감소하며 다시 1억원대로 내려왔다. SK텔레콤과 SK스퀘어, 삼성물산 등도 1000만원 이상 평균급여를 줄였다.
12일 CEO스코어에 따르면 국내 시가총액 500대 상장회사 중 이달 7일까지 주주총회소집공고를 공시한 기업 247곳을 대상으로 사외이사 평균급여를 조사한 결과, 삼성전자가 1억8333만원으로 가장 높았다. 지난 2023년 2억316만원 대비 1983만원(9.8%) 감소했지만 1위를 수성했다.
삼성전자를 포함해 사외이사 평균급여 상위 10개 기업 중 7곳이 지난해 급여를 줄였다. 2년 연속 2위를 지킨 SK텔레콤의 평균급여도 1억5677만원으로 전년 대비 1189만원(7.0%) 줄었다.
이어 △SK하이닉스(1억5367만원, 전년대비 699만원↓) △SK(1억5200만원, 40만원↓) △SK스퀘어(1억4600만원, 1350만원↓) △SK아이이테크놀로지(1억2175만원, 175만원↓) △삼성물산(1억1400만원, 3220만원↓) 등도 평균 급여가 줄었다.
반면, △POSCO홀딩스(1억3121만원, 1492만원↑) △현대차(1억2014만원, 182만원↑) △SK바이오사이언스(1억1298만원, 600만원↑) 등은 사외이사 평균급여가 올랐다.
조사대상 기업 중 지난해 사외이사의 평균급여가 1억원을 넘는 곳은 29곳으로, 전년 20곳 대비 9곳 늘었다. 29곳 중 26곳은 삼성·SK·현대자동차·LG 등 4대 대기업집단 계열이었다. 11개 기업이 신규로 진입했고 S-Oil(9667만원, 전년 대비 464만원↓)과 SKC(8000만원, 3475만원↓)는 탈락했다
사외이사 평균급여가 1억원 이상인 기업 중 삼성그룹 계열은 삼성전자·삼성물산·삼성증권·삼성중공업·삼성SDI·삼성생명·삼성E&A 삼성바이오로직스·제일기획·삼성화재·삼성에스디에스·호텔신라·삼성카드 등 13곳이다.
SK 계열은 SK텔레콤·SK하이닉스·SK·SK스퀘어·SK아이이테크놀로지·SK바이오사이언스·SK디스커버리·SK가스·SK이노베이션 등 9곳이다.
현대차 계열은 현대차·현대모비스 2곳, LG 계열은 LG전자·LG 2곳이다.

지난해 사외이사 1인 평균급여가 가장 많았던 업종은 자동차‧부품으로 8659만원을 기록, 전년 대비 71만원(0.8%) 증가했다. 이어 지주(8170만원), 금융(7724만원), 조선·기계·설비(7657만원), 유통(7543만원) 업종 순으로 사외이사 평균급여가 많았다. 공기업은 사외이가 평균급여가 2720만원으로 가장 낮았다.
업종별로 지난해 사외이가 평균급여가 전년 대비 가장 많이 감소한 업종은 건설·건자재였다. 건설·건자재업종의 사외이사 평균급여는 지난해 7214만원으로 전년(7774만원) 대비 560만원(7.2%) 줄었다.
한편, 전체 조사대상 247개 기업 중 지난해 사외이사 평균급여를 늘린 곳은 130곳, 줄인 기업은 68곳이었다. 이 중 평균급여를 1000만원 넘게 올린 기업은 29곳, 1000만원 이상 내린 기업은 15곳이었다.
