브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 기아가 다문화 청소년의 안정적인 사회 진출을 돕기 위한 ‘하모니움 교육 프로그램’ 참여자를 모집한다.
‘하모니움’은 조화를 의미하는 ‘하모니’(Harmony)와 새싹이 돋다를 의미하는 ‘움트다’의 합성어로, 국내 다문화 청소년의 사회·경제적 자립 지원 및 다문화 수용성 향상을 위해 지난해 새롭게 런칭한 사회공헌 사업이다.
이번에 진행하는 하모니움 교육 프로그램은 다문화 청소년들이 주도적으로 진로 계획을 수립하고 직무 경험을 통해 실질적인 취업 및 창업 역량 강화의 기회를 제공한다.
구체적으로 다문화 청소년들의 선호 영역과 전문가 자문을 거쳐 선정한 4가지 특화 교육 영역(IT기술, F&B, 영상편집, 조경기술)을 대상으로, 진로 설계에 도움이 되는 다양한 교육 커리큘럼과 실습 과정을 운영한다.
이후 특화 교육 영역의 소셜벤처들과 연계한 인턴십 프로그램과 다문화 선배 초청 특강, 오토랜드 견학 및 개인 프로필 촬영 등의 특별 프로그램도 진행한다.
기아는 하모니움 교육 프로그램 참여 및 자립 의지에 대한 동기를 부여하기 위해 모든 학생들을 대상으로 교통비 및 인턴십 진행시 근로장학금을 지급하고, 우수 수료생에게는 추가 장학금을 지급할 예정이다.
하모니움 교육 프로그램은 상반기와 하반기 각 25명의 다문화 청소년을 대상으로 진행한다. 상반기는 올해 4~8월까지, 하반기는 9월부터 2026년 2월까지 운영할 계획이다.
하모니움 교육 프로그램 신청은 오는 24일 오전 11시까지 하모니움 공식 홈페이지에서 가능하며, 오프라인 설명회 현장에서도 지원할 수 있다. 기아는 이후 서류 심사와 온라인 면접 심사를 거쳐 4월 중 상반기 교육 대상자를 선정할 계획이다.
이를 위해 기아는 지난 8일 충청 지역을 시작으로 오는 23일까지 △전라 △서울 △경기 △경북 △경남 등 전국 6개권역에 ‘찾아가는 오프라인 설명회’를 개최하고 있다. 설명회에서는 다문화 학생과 학부모, 교사, NGO 종사자를 대상으로 하모니움 프로그램에 대한 구체적인 설명과 함께 지역별 다문화 현안 및 현장 의견을 청취하고 있다.
기아 관계자는 “하모니움 교육 프로그램을 통해 다문화 청소년들에게 실질적인 진로 설계 및 직무 경험의 기회를 제공하여 대한민국의 건강한 사회 구성원으로 성장할 수 있도록 돕겠다”며 “나아가 다문화 가정 인식 개선 활동을 통해 긍정적인 변화를 불러일으킬 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원할 것이다”고 말했다.
한편, 기아는 ‘인류의 안전하고, 자유롭고, 지속가능한 삶에 기여한다’는 사회공헌 미션 아래 △장애인 이동권 향상을 위한 ‘초록여행’ △도움이 필요한 지역사회의 자립지원을 위한 ‘그린라이트 프로젝트’(Green LightProject) △해양 폐플라스틱을 수거하여 재자원화하는 ‘오션클린업’(The Ocean Cleanup) △갯벌 생태보호를 위한 염생식물을 식재하고 연구하는 ‘갯벌식생복원’ 등 다양한 사회공헌 사업을 펼치고 있다.
