충남 금산군이 외국인 주민의 안정적인 지역 정착을 돕기 위한 ‘금산군 외국인 주민 통합지원센터’를 개소했다.
지난 17일 금산군은 추부면 중부대학교 경영관에 위치한 통합지원센터에서 개소식을 열고 본격적인 운영을 시작했다. 이날 행사에는 박범인 금산군수, 김기윤 금산군의회 의장, 이정열 중부대학교 총장을 비롯해 지역 주민과 유학생 등 50여 명이 참석했다.
금산군 외국인 주민 통합지원센터는 지역 산업과 연계한 교육 및 취업 지원을 비롯해 다양한 생활 적응 프로그램을 운영하며, 외국인 주민의 안정적인 정착을 지원할 계획이다.
주요 사업으로는 한국어 교육, 취업 연계 교육, 전문 상담 서비스 등이 포함된다. 특히 ▲한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 대비반 ▲농업 기술인 양성 과정 ▲지역 돌봄 인력 양성 프로그램 ▲진로 체험 프로그램 등을 운영해 외국인 주민의 취업 기회를 확대할 방침이다.
또한, 통번역 지원, 행정 및 정보화 교육 등 실생활 적응 프로그램을 마련하고, 외국인과 지역 사회 간 교류를 활성화하기 위한 간담회와 일자리 박람회도 추진할 예정이다.
박범인 금산군수는 “이번 센터 개소를 통해 외국인 주민들이 금산에서 안정적으로 정착하고, 지역 사회와 함께 성장할 수 있는 기반을 마련하게 됐다”며 “다양한 지원 프로그램을 통해 보다 나은 삶을 설계할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
