진주시, 진주경찰서 서편 중안지구 공영주차타워 준공

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 진주경찰서 서편 중안동 14-1번지에 지상 3층 218면 규모의 공영주차타워 조성을 완료하고 18일 준공식을 가졌다.

중안지구 공영주차타워 조성사업은 원도심의 만성적인 주차난을 해결하고, 주변 상권 활성화를 위해 주택밀집지역 주차공간 확보사업과 연계해 추진된 사업이다.

이번 사업은 지난 2022년 10월 기본계획 수립 용역을 시작으로 지난 2023년 4월 민영주차장으로 사용 중인 부지를 매입 후 행정절차를 거쳐 2024년 2월 착공했다.

진주시는 지난 2월 진주경찰서, 진주시시설관리공단, 진주서부시니어클럽과 중안지구공영주차타워 업무협약을 체결해 효율적으로 관리·운영할 예정이다.

중안지구 공영주차타워는 총사업비 165억원을 들여 부지면적 2109㎡, 건축 연면적 5299㎡의 지상 3층 4단 규모의 218면 주차공간으로 조성됐다.

조규일 진주시장은 “이번 사업은 원도심지 내 주차난 해소 뿐만 아니라 지역경제 활성화와 도심지 미관 개선에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것”이라고 말했다.
