시냇가푸른나무교회측은 최근 보도자료에서 ”이라고 밝히고 “남수단 마르디 공동체에서는 매주 1,000여 명 이상의 어린이와 청소년들이 학교 수업과 예배에 참석하고 있다. 그러나 상당수의 학생들이 구제 의류를 입고 있어 교육적 환경 개선이 필요하다는 요청이 지속되어 왔다. 이에 선교단체들은 청소년들에게 단체복을 제공해 통일된 교육 환경을 조성하고, 보다 나은 학습 환경을 지원하고자 이번 기부를 진행했다”고 알렸다.

보도자료에 따르면, 이 기부 프로젝트에는 시냇가푸른나무교회 선교위원장 이덕윤 장로, (사)1004클럽 나눔공동체 양승수 총재, 한국디아코니아선교회 김건동 대표, 정동우 대표, 나영철 대표, 이형기 회원 등이 함께했다. 이들은 현지의 필요를 직접 확인하고 지속적인 지원 방안을 모색하며, 남수단 청소년들에게 실질적인 도움을 전하는 데 뜻을 모았다.
이번 학생복 기부는 시냇가푸른나무교회와 한국디아코니아선교회가 진행하는 ‘노트북 지원 프로젝트’와 ‘운동화 지원 프로젝트’에 이어 세 번째로 진행된 나눔 활동이다. 이를 통해 마르디 공동체의 교육 여건을 개선하고, 미래를 준비하는 청소년들에게 실질적인 도움을 주고자 했다.
기부된 물품 중 일부는 브라질, 인도네시아, 필리핀, 캄보디아 등에도 전달될 예정이다. 또한, 선교단체들은 남수단 지원을 마친 후에도 열악한 환경에 처한 지역 청소년들을 위한 후원 사업을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다. 이들은 한국 내 뜻있는 후원자들의 관심과 참여를 요청하며, 나눔의 가치를 실천하는 이들의 동참을 기대하고 있다.
Groups including the Stream Green Tree Church “Donated 1,800 School Uniforms to the Mardi Community in South Sudan”

The Stream Green Tree Church recently announced in a press release that “Korea’s warmth was delivered to the youth of the Mardi community in South Sudan, Africa. The Stream Green Tree Church and the Korea Diaconia Missionary Society collaborated with the 1004 Club Sharing Community to donate a total of 1,800 school uniforms.” They added, “More than 1,000 children and youth attend school classes and worship services every week in the Mardi community in South Sudan. However, many students wear relief clothing, and there have been continuous requests for improvement in the educational environment. Accordingly, the missionary groups made this donation to provide uniforms to the youth, create a unified educational environment, and support a better learning environment.” According to the press release, this donation project was participated by Elder Lee Deok-yoon, the head of the mission committee of the Sinsaetga Blue Tree Church, Yang Seung-soo, the president of the 1004 Club Sharing Community, Kim Geon-dong, Jeong Dong-woo, Na Yeong-cheol, and Lee Hyeong-gi, a member of the Korean Diakonia Mission. They directly checked the local needs and sought ways to provide continuous support, and agreed to provide practical help to the youth of South Sudan.
This school uniform donation is the third sharing activity carried out by Sinsaetga Blue Tree Church and the Korean Diakonia Mission, following the ‘Laptop Support Project’ and ‘Sneakers Support Project.’ Through this, they hoped to improve the educational environment of the Mardi community and provide practical help to the youth preparing for the future.
Some of the donated items will be delivered to Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia. In addition, the missionary groups plan to continue to expand their support projects for youth in poor environments even after completing their support for South Sudan. They are asking for the interest and participation of willing sponsors in Korea and are looking forward to the participation of those who practice the value of sharing.
