대통령실이 24일 최근 전국에서 발생 중인 산불 관련 음모론에 "명백한 허위 주장에 대해선 책임을 묻고 법적 조치를 검토하는 등 강력 대응할 방침"이라고 밝혔다.
대통령실 대변인실은 이날 오후 언론 공지를 통해 "전 국민적 재난인 산불을 '호마의식' 등 음모론 소재로 악용한 일부 유튜버 행태에 강력히 유감을 표한다"며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "정략적 음모론을 지속 제기해 온 해당 유튜버의 악의적 허위 주장을 확인 과정 없이 일방적으로 보도한 일부 언론에 대해서도 심히 유감을 표하며 보도를 자제해 주시길 요청드린다"고 밝혔다.
또 "이번 산불은 국가적 재난으로 온 국민이 합심해 극복하고자 노력하고 있다"며 "이런 상황에서 음모론을 유포하는 행위는 어떠한 이유로도 용납될 수 없다"고 지적했다.
