충남 계룡시가 시민들의 대중교통 이용 편의를 높이기 위해 시내버스 노선 개편을 추진한다.
시는 지난해 ‘시내버스 노선개편 방안 연구용역’을 통해 지역 주민들의 이동 편의를 증진할 방안을 모색해왔다. 특히 대실지구 및 엄사 파라디아 일원 주민들의 교통 불편을 해소하기 위해 순환버스 신설 등을 주요 개선안으로 검토해왔다.
이와 관련해 시는 지난 3월 7일 대실지구 주민들을 대상으로 시내버스 노선 개편 설명회를 열고, 202번과 2002번 노선의 유지 및 대전까지의 직선 노선 개설 요구 등 다양한 의견을 청취했다.
이어 3월 14일 두마면사무소에서 열린 지역구 시의원 및 주민 대표 간담회에서는 대전 직행 노선 신설과 시내 순환버스 증차 등의 필요성이 추가로 제기됐다.
이에 대해 계룡시는 "노선 개편안은 전문기관의 연구 용역과 지역 언론, 이장단 및 주민들의 다양한 의견을 종합해 마련한 것"이라면서도 "시민들의 요청을 적극 검토해 가능한 부분을 반영할 계획"이라고 밝혔다.
시는 개편 방향이 확정되면 대전시와 협의를 거쳐 최종안을 확정하고, 오는 6월까지 개편된 노선에 대한 홍보를 진행할 예정이다.
이응우 계룡시장은 "앞으로도 시민들의 의견을 지속적으로 청취하며, 보다 편리하고 효율적인 대중교통 서비스를 제공하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
