브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘은 28일 선거관위원회가 채용비리 직원 절반 이상을 경징계로 끝냈다며 이런 게 바로 특검 대상이 돼야 한다고 밝혔다.
박민영 국민의힘 대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "선관위가 채용 비리를 넘어 징계까지 특혜를 주는 '다중특혜' 행보를 이어가고 있다"며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "언론 보도에 따르면, 선관위는 채용 비리에 연루된 직원 18명 중 10명 이상을 감봉이나 견책 등 경징계했으며, 감사원 감사를 거부한 직원 2명에 대해서는 징계 자체를 유보했다"며 "앞서 선관위와 전·현직 관계자들은 특혜 채용된 자녀들에 대한 징계 규정이 없다는 궤변을 늘어놓았고, '스스로 사퇴하도록 설득하라'는 질의에 대해서도 '본인의 의사가 중요하다'며 책임을 회피했다"고 말했다.
이어 "채용 비리가 적발되면 직위 해제는 물론 관련자들에게 법적 책임을 묻는 것이 국민적 상식임에도, 선관위는 국민과 법 위에 군림하려는 파렴치한 태도를 보이고 있다"면서 "감사원 감사를 거부하고 내부 징계마저 솜방망이 처벌로 무마하는 선관위의 부적절한 행태를 바로잡을 수 있는 건 오직 국회뿐"이라고 강조했다.
박 대변인은 "특검과 국정조사는 이러한 사태를 해결하기 위해 존재하는 제도"라며 "민주당이 진정으로 헌정 질서를 수호하려 한다면, 재난 지원을 볼모로 마은혁 재판관 임명을 압박하기 전에 선관위의 부정과 불공정을 바로잡는 데 적극 협조해야 한다"고 촉구했다.
