브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘은 28일 더불어민주당을 향해 "재난 예비비마저 정쟁의 도구로 이용하지 말고 국가적 재난 상황 극복에 초당적으로 협력해야 한다"고 강조했다.
신동욱 수석대변인은 이날 논평에서 "이번 산불은 변수가 많아 모든 경우의 수를 생각해야 하는 상황임에도 민주당은 ‘재난 예비비 추경’에 동의할 수 없다는 입장을 고집하고 있다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
신 대변인은 특히 "올해 재난 관련 예비비는 1조 6천억원에 불과하다. 정부는 작년 예산 편성 과정에서 4조 8천억원의 예비비를 편성했으나, 거대 야당인 민주당이 2조 4천억원으로 대폭 삭감했기 때문"이라며 "대국민 사과와 재난 예비비 추경 편성에도 협조해야 마땅할 시점에, 민주당은 마은혁 헌법재판관 임명이 재난 극복의 전제조건인 것처럼 호도하고 있다"고 지적했다.
그는 이어 "민주당 예결위 간사는 예산을 볼모로 정쟁을 부추기고 있으며, 민주당 내 일부에서는 ‘국정 마비 획책 시나리오’를 짜고 있다"면서 "금일 보도에 따르면, 민주당 내에서 ‘국무위원 무더기 탄핵’을 언급하며 사실상 정부를 무력화시키는 방안까지 검토 중"이라고 우려했다.
신 대변인은 또한 "이재명 대표는 국민의힘을 향해 ‘사람이 죽어가는 상황에서 정쟁을 한다’고 하지만, 정작 재난을 정쟁의 도구로 삼고 있는 자가 누구인지 돌아보라"면서 "이제라도 정쟁을 접고, 국가적 재난 사태 극복을 위해 힘을 모아야 한다"고 촉구했다.
