예산군, '지방하천 퇴적토 정비사업' 본격 추진

충남 예산군이 하천의 원활한 흐름을 확보하고 홍수 피해를 예방하기 위해 ‘2025년 지방하천 퇴적토 정비사업’을 본격적으로 추진한다.

퇴적토 정비사업은 하천 바닥에 쌓인 퇴적물을 제거해 치수 기능을 강화하고 수해 위험을 줄이는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 이번 사업을 통해 예산군은 하천의 기능을 개선하고 주민 안전을 확보하는 데 총력을 기울일 계획이다.

올해 정비 대상은 지곡천 외 7개 하천으로, 군은 사업에 총 9억2000만 원을 투입한다. 이 중 군비와 도비가 각각 4억3000만 원, 재난관리기금이 6000만 원이 배정됐다.

현재 지곡천 외 2개 하천은 3월에 이미 착공했으며, 나머지 화산천 등 4개 하천은 4월에 공사를 시작해 5월 준공을 목표로 진행된다. 

군은 여름철 우기가 시작되기 전에 모든 공사를 완료해 수해 위험을 최소화할 계획이다.

군 관계자는 “이번 정비사업을 통해 하천의 배수 기능을 강화하고 집중호우 시에도 주민들이 안전하게 생활할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”며 “사업이 차질 없이 진행될 수 있도록 철저히 관리하겠다”고 밝혔다.
